Stop Motion Fun

I have found a love for making stop motion videos. There’s just something about them that makes my heart beat faster. I don’t know if it’s the conception (trying to come up with a fun idea), getting and putting all the pieces together that I need, executing it, or editing it to music that makes me love them.

This was my very first stop motion I attempted! It took 5 hours to make…

Stop motions are quite deceiving. They are usually very short videos, but take hours to do. If you don’t know what a stop motion is, it’s basically a bunch of pictures consecutively placed together to make a moving video. Kind of like those little drawings that people do on the corners of book pages to make a stick figure run.

This one I made with cut out paper

They look super easy to make, but I’ll tell you, moving a subject by mere inches at a time is pretty tedious. This 8 second stop motion took more than hour just to shoot! Then I had to edit the pictures, import them into my video program, add music and sounds…all of which took another couple of hours!

Legos + world kindness day

Now if it sounds like I’m complaining, I’m not really! I actually really LOVE the whole process of making stop motions. It makes me think, slow down and be exact. I’ve always been a lover of crafting, so it’s exactly what I call fun!

Sometimes making funny stuff is good for the soul!

Though I’m just at the beginning of my stop motion madness, I’m excited when I get the opportunity to help others call attention to their products and brands with a unique stop motion just for them!

Gratitude + Joy

Let’s face it, 2020 has been a hard year all around. It definitely didn’t go the way I’d planned it. At all. But really, I am grateful for what I’ve learned, and how I’ve grown.

I decided to make a little film about gratitude. This was the first time I’d ever tried my hand at writing a script, recording a voice-over and then adding video clips to it. Most of the clips I used were recorded in 2020, though some were from as early as 2018. And anything I didn’t have a clip for, I recorded to go along with the dialogue. It was really a labor of love. A little piece of my heart in a film. <3

I hope you enjoyed this little film! What has brought you joy in 2020?

Hello There

Well here I am. Embarking on a new adventure and starting something new and different. While this website is nowhere near complete yet, I wanted to at least try out the posting to get a feel for it.

Let me introduce myself a little bit.

My name is Emily, and I’m a mom to four boys and wife to one very big boy. 😉 They keep me busy for the most part, but I am a creator at heart and I always have to be doing something fun for me. Ya know all that jazz about how if mama ain’t happy, then no one is…I’m a believer!

For the last 8 years, I’ve run a part time photography business, adding in filmmaking the last 3. Both are things I never saw myself doing 15 years ago, but here I am, and loving every minute of it!

I have focused on families, children and seniors most of my business life. And though those things are fun, they aren’t really challenging to me. This past year, I have started helping other small businesses create photo and video content that is unique to their mission and branding. This has been a fun change for me, because each brand is so different, and every project is unique. This kind of work is right up my ally!

Now that I’ve realized I love doing this, I’ve decided to focus my work and business on helping other small businesses, by creating content they can share online to help them stand apart from their competition. I’ve done this through interviews, stop motions, drone images and original commercials.

Whether you’re a small business with a handful of employees, a larger business with hundreds of employees, or one person wanting to show up big, I can help you brand your business in a creative and unique way to catch the eyes of clients, potential employees, investors and followers! My goal is to help you become your best brand with creative online content that is within your budget!

As I’m still building this website, you can find my current work of videos on Vimeo or Instagram. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact me through the form below and we can chat about your goals and dreams! 🙂
