Lava (A Stop Motion)

I love the Disney short film “Lava”! Such a cute little story! Have you seen it? If not, go search it up!

Well, last year, I started learning how to play the ukulele, and the song from Lava is one that I learned how to play. I was practicing it the other day, when I had a sudden stroke of inspiration on what to do for my latest stop motion. I had a pile of Valentine’s Day candy in my office that I’d bought to make another stop motion. Only the other one didn’t quite work out how I’d wanted it to. So I scrapped on it, and basically ate candy for the next 3 days while I was trying to figure out something different. 😉

Luckily between me and my boys, there was enough candy to make a new stop motion when the inspiration finally struck! I decided to make a stop motion based on “Lava”! (You may have to click on the link as I can’t get it to embed for some reason…sorry about that!)

Hanging Out With the Hamson’s: December 2020

It’s now February, but I only finished my December family film a week or so ago. With all of the new website stuff I’ve been doing, editing my family film kind of got set to the back burner. 🙁

Our December was a lot quieter than normal, so it feels almost boring to watch this month’s film. Doesn’t really feel like Christmas without all the gatherings, but on the other hand, it was nice to have a quiet month!

And just for kicks, here’s a cool drone image I captured while the boys were sledding!

Branding Story: Massage Therapy

I thought it’d be fun on this new website of mine, to start documenting my commercial work in blog format. Sharing my commercial work online has never been my thing. I don’t really post it to my personal feed on IG, and never posted any on my blog except a few here and there…so I’m going to start posting every session I do! I want to do this mostly to help get the word out to others about some of the cool things that other small businesses are doing. So, without further ado, I’m introducing brand stories!

This beautiful lady is my sister-in-law, Jenny. And she’s a massage therapist, an amazing massage therapist I might add! She wanted to do a whole rebranding, so I helped her do just that!

I designed her logo (which I dabble with a little bit, but it’s not my main thing), and I made a brand story film as well a photo shoot so she has plenty of pretty pictures to share on social media for awhile to really share her rebranding online!

Whether it’s a full rebranding of your brand, a photos + film session, or showing off your products, I love helping small businesses look good online! If doing your own branding story sounds intriguing to you, find out more info here, and even schedule a free consultation with me where we talk about some ways you can update and upgrade your online presence!

Hitting the Slopes. Our 2020-2021 ski season is ov Hitting the Slopes. Our 2020-2021 ski season is over. 😩 We had “snow” much fun this year! Can I tell you a secret? I learned how to ski 8 years ago, at the age of 35, and it’s only been a couple of years that I’ve actually felt I could say I’m a good skier. You are never too old to learn something new! (But I admit, I’ll never even attempt bigger jumps than the little bunny hop I do toward the end of this film...because I’d rather not break a bone or 20! 🤣) Thank you @skithebeav for an amazing season!
